Vision quest

The vision quest is a very old ritual which is done to end a certain phase or begin the transition into a new phase in life, to ask for healing for ourselves or a close friend or relative, to find the solution for a problem or a vision for your future path or simply to say ‘Thank you’ to the spiritual world.

We start the week with the holy medicine wheel ceremony. This helps us realise what our momentary place in life is and through which lessons our next steps may lead us.

We will take a one day hike through the surrounding area to become accustomed with the powers and the nature of that region. We will be situated in a national park with a wonderful view of the ocean, untouched by civilisation. We will welcome the local spirits and ask for good guidance for the following days.

The participants will then spend three days and three nights alone in nature, fasting, praying and singing to meet their inner self. In the end everybody decides for him- or herself about the duration of being “al(l)-one” or returning to the house.

During the vision quest inner and outer boarders are crossed and we leave our well-known comfort zone behind us. The willingness to engage completely to nature brings us in very deep contact with our spiritual soul and our higher self. Our attentiveness increases, our awareness will become more sensitive and we will be able to recognize nature and its inhabitants as part of our family, not as our enemies. We will learn to understand the language of nature. We will recognize that the spiritual world, which is part of our soul family, too, can communicate to us via nature. What a great gift! And the creator is then ready to introduce us to a personal vision for our life. At the same time we get to meet ourselves and recognize all the potentials and talents that have been sleeping inside us.

In the dawn after the third night we return to the house. A welcoming ritual helps us to return to reality and the everyday life. Talking circles and a closing ceremony support us to integrate all the experiences and stabilize the visionary process and the clarity so that we can carry the presents from the spiritual world out into life with responsibility, dignity and a positive mind.
